It's been one week since Amara left the Love Island Nigeria villa, and she's finally ready to talk about her experience. We sat down with her to discuss the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
On Her Time in the Villa
"It was honestly the most intense experience of my life," Amara begins, tucking her legs beneath her on the sofa. "You go in thinking you know yourself, but being in that environment 24/7 with cameras everywhere... it really makes you confront who you are."
On Her Connection with Chidi
The question everyone wants answered: what really happened between her and Chidi?
"Chidi and I had something real, I truly believe that. But the villa is a pressure cooker, and sometimes things that work in there don't translate to the outside world. We're still in touch, and I wish him nothing but the best."
On the Friendships She Made
"The girls were my rock in there," she says, her face lighting up. "Zainab, especially - we had this instant connection. We've been texting every day since I left. Those friendships are for life."
What She Learned About Herself
"I learned that I'm stronger than I thought. I also learned that I need to be more patient and not rush into things. In the villa, everything is heightened, and I think I sometimes let my emotions run away with me."
Looking Forward
As for what's next, Amara has big plans. "I want to focus on my business, maybe do some travelling. As for love? I'm open to it, but I'm not going to force it. When it's right, it'll happen."
We'll certainly be watching to see what this fan favourite does next.
